Pranav Shama, President
Pranav Sharma

President

Pranav is a third-year undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) with a major in Marketing and a second degree in Information Systems at Singapore Management University. He is a recipient of the Lee Kong Chian Scholarship Program. Over the winter of 2016, Pranav was part of Project Neora, an overseas community service project in West Bengal, India, providing education to primary and secondary kids as well as some social education for the community members. Pranav also attended the Pembroke-Kings’ Programme at Cambridge University in the summer of 2017. He has also participated in various business competitions, finishing second in the Deloitte Risk Intelligence Challenge 2017 and won the Shopee E-commerce Challenge 2017. His previous internships include a boutique market research consulting firm and a start-up in the pharmaceutical consulting space. During the summer of 2018, he completed an internship with Shopee as a Regional Brands Partnership Intern.

Director, India Desk 

Jonas is a third-year undergraduate at the Singapore Management University pursuing a Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) with a major in Finance. He is a recipient of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce Business Scholarship and was recognised in the Lee Kong Chian School of Business Dean’s List AY2016/2017 for his academic excellence. Currently, he is also a BNP Paribas All-Star Student Ambassador. Jonas was part of an overseas community service project, The Teung Project II, which aims to provide for the basic necessities for students of Chiang Rai, Thailand through efforts such as education and construction of a Science Lab. Jonas also participated in SUTD - Inventis Case Competition 2017 and Oliver Wyman Case Competition 2018, and his team emerged as semi-finalists for both competitions. During the summer of 2018, he embarked on an internship with IL&FS Financial Services Ltd as a Corporate Finance Analyst. Currently, he is interning at BNP Paribas as an Investment Banking Fall Analyst.

Kimberly is a third-year undergraduate pursuing a degree in Economics (Maritime Economics Concentration), with a major in Finance (International Trading Track) at Singapore Management University. An individual who believes in giving back to the community, Kimberly was part of two overseas community service projects (Project Khmer Smiles IV & V) where her team designed and conducted entrepreneurial programmes such as accounting for youths in Cambodia. Kimberly also participated in the National Maritime Case Competition 2018 where her team emerged as 2nd runner-ups. Over the summer of 2018, she completed an internship with Arcadia Agri Pte Ltd as a Sales and Structuring Intern, as well as with Netafim Ltd.

Jerome is a third-year undergraduate pursuing a degree in Bachelor of Accountancy at Singapore Management University. In recognition of his academic excellence, he was placed on the School of Accountancy Dean’s List for AY 2017/2018. Last summer, Jerome was involved in Project Touch 9, an overseas community service project which aimed to provide which aims to assist and serve the local community in the Municipality of Concepcion, Philippines. Jerome is also active in serving the local community, participating in Project Moolah which aim to reach out to students in Secondary Schools to raise awareness and impart financial literacy skills Over the summer of 2018, he completed an internship with DFS Singapore.

Thaddeus is a third-year undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) with a major in Finance at Singapore Management University. In recognition of his academic excellence, he was placed on the Lee Kong Chian School of Business Dean’s List for AY2016/17 and AY2017/2018. He is also the recipient of the SMU Alumnus Finance Mentoring Award AY16/17 and the Max Lewis Scholarship. Over the winter of 2017, Thaddeus was part of Project Crossroads VI, an overseas community service project at Crossroads Foundation, centered on providing humanitarian relief and redistributing resources to the locals in developing countries. During the summer of 2018, he completed a corporate finance internship with North Ridge Partners as an Investment Banking Analyst. He is currently with BNP Paribas as an Investment Banking Off-Cycle Analyst in the Transportation Sector. 

Ron Mak, Director
Ron Mak

Director, Central & East Asia Desk | Training

Ron is a second-year undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) with a major in Finance. In recognition of his academic excellence, he was placed on the Lee Kong Chian School of Business Dean's List, offered the SMU Merit Scholarship, and awarded the SMU Alumnus Finance Mentoring Award in AY17/18. Together with 3 other SEM associates, his team finished as 1st Runners-Up for the inaugural Yale-NUS Belt and Road Initiative Case Competition held in March 2018. He led an expedition to scale Rupin Pass in the Indian Himalayas during Year 0 and subsequently spearheaded another trip in the winter of 2017 to traverse Tiger Leaping Gorge and Haba Snow Mountain in China. In the summer of 2018, Ron was part of the student delegation of the Entrepreneurship Study Mission that visited prominent tech startups in Silicon Wadi, Israel. He also attended the inaugural Barclays Insight Program to learn more about Front Office functions and represented SMU-IIE at RISE Conference in Hong Kong, Asia's largest tech event.

Director, South East Asia Desk | Marketing

Jia Wei is a third-year undergraduate at the Singapore Management University pursuing a Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) with a major in Finance. In the winter of 2016, he was involved in a student-led overseas community service project, SMU Uni-Y Chiang Mai, which aims to provide basic necessities to secondary school students in Chiang Mai, Thailand through efforts such as education and the construction of a washroom. Jia Wei also participated in the Inter-Varsity Stock Research Challenge organised by Hidden Champions Fund and his team’s research piece was selected for publication. In the summer of 2018, Jia Wei organised the Citi-SMU Financial Literacy Challenge 2018 to impart financial literacy skills to  ITE, Polytechnic, and University students. Over summer 2018, he has completed an internship with Blue Ocean Capital Partners as a Summer Analyst.

Training

Hua Bing is a third-year undergraduate pursuing a double degree in Bachelor of Business Management at Singapore Management University and a Bachelor of Engineering (Engineering Systems Design) at Singapore University of Technology and Design. He is a recipient of the SUTD-SMU DDP scholarship and was placed on SUTD’s Honours List for the Freshmore year of 2016’s cohort. During the winter of 2016, he was involved in Project Ket Noi 1 which aimed to bring financial literacy to households in Hue, Vietnam. In the summer of 2018, he embarked on an internship with Wilmar in Vietnam under the commercial department where he was exposed to the Vietnamese rice industry.
