Quek Chui Jin, Kenneth
President
Kenneth graduated with a double degree in Economics (Maritime Economics Concentration) and Business Management (Finance – International Trading Track) from the Singapore Management University. In recognition of his academic excellence, he was placed on the School of Economics Dean’s List for Academic Years 2012/13, 2013/14, and 2014/15. In addition, he has been selected as a member of the International Honor Business Society, Beta Gamma Sigma, whose members represent the top business university students globally. Kenneth was part of Project Namaste VII, an overseas community service initiative to the mountains of Pokhara, Nepal during winter 2012 to improve the education infrastructure of a local village by developing their IT infrastructure. He helped organised SMU Patron’s Day 2013 where he oversaw operations and manpower for a series of marketing campaigns for the event and also represented SMU for the Ultimate Frisbee IVP Games 2013, helping SMU to achieve the Champion title that year. His passion for commodities also motivated him to be the Honorary General Secretary for SMU Merchants’ Club, a student-led initiative focusing on commodities, in 2015. He has completed past internship stints at Bank of Singapore Ltd, Wilmar International (Bidco Uganda Ltd), Noble International Resources Ltd, and Mercuria Asia before his graduation.
Linda Mulyani
Vice President
Linda graduated with a double degree in Business Management and Economics. She is an honoured recipient of the ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship Programme. She was part of the team that launched the Africa-South East Asia Chamber of Commerce, which aims to foster high-level business relationships between private companies in the two regions. Prior to joining SMU Emerging Markets, Linda organised and led the Gryphon’s Social Entrepreneurship Symposium, an initiative that aims to inculcate the spirit of sustainable, community-centric businesses in youths. She also spearheaded an overseas fundraising initiative for the community in Idosowe, Kenya to benefit the women and children in the community.
Fong Yi Han
Director, Africa Desk | Training
Yi Han graduated with a double degree in Accountancy and Business Management (Finance) at Singapore Management University. He is an honoured recipient of the SMU Scholars’ Programme and has been placed on the Dean’s List for AY2013/14 and AY2014/15. In school, Yi Han has served on the organising committees of Smuggles Camp and SMU's Bondue Business Forum. He was also part of Project Agape: Kashgar, an international volunteer mission to Xinjiang, China. Yi Han has completed internships with United Overseas Bank (Infrastructure and Project Finance) and Deutsche Bank (Compliance). Additionally, his team emerged champion for the J.P. Morgan Asset Management Challenge and finalist in the Oliver Wyman Case Competition. Yi Han has completed a term-time internship with Moody’s during AY2015/2016 and has interned at J.P Morgan as an equity analyst during the summer of 2016.
Tay Yan Xin
Director, Central & East Asia Desk | Marketing
Yan Xin graduated from Singapore Management University having pursued a degree in B.Sc (Economics). Prior to joining SMU Emerging Markets, she was the Honorary General Secretary of SMU Flare Cheerleading Team and performed at various university events. Yan Xin was also part of the Marketing Committee for Project Gazaab, a microfinance-focused project to Maharastra, India that aims to award seed money for entrepreneurial rural student projects. During the summer of 2014, Yan Xin has completed an internship with Euromonitor International as a Research Analyst (Industry) for Consumer Electronics and Personal Accessories & Eyewear. Yan Xin also represented SEM at the FutureChina Youth Forum Scholar Showdown organized by BusinessChina in 2014. Her team emerged champions and was invited to attend the prestigious FutureChina Global Forum. She is currently with Mercury PR as a PR executive.

Teo Li Ming
Director, Latin America Desk | Resource Management
Shaun graduated with a degree in Business Management from the Singapore Management University. He has previously completed a 3-month internship at Phillip Capital (CFDs Department) as part of the regional marketing team. Shaun also served as the Logistics and Beneficiary Liaisons Director for Project Chong Chong 2, an Overseas Community Services Project to Vietnam, which focused on Environmental Technology and Sustainable Development. During the summer of 2013, he achieved a Distinction in the module “Emerging Markets and Global Economies”, at the Harvard Summer School. Shaun’s past internships include a stint with UOB, Group Finance & Corporate Services Division.
Li Ming graduated with a degree in Accountancy and a second major in Finance from the Singapore Management University. He has previously completed a 5-month internship at the Client Solutions Team at Standard Chartered Bank Singapore, focusing on corporate finance transactions for ASEAN local corporates. Li Ming has held several leadership roles throughout his university term, such as co-leading an overseas community service project to the rural village of Dingnan, Jiangxi, China, and serving as the head of programs in an overseas community service project to Xinjiang, China. His other international experience includes representing SMU in a 10-day Accounting Study Mission to Pearl River Delta, and a 4-month international exchange program to Emory University Goizueta Business School. Li Ming has completed an internship with the Fixed Income team at Aviva Investors Asia in the summer of 2015. He has currently commenced full-time employment at GIC, under the GIC Professionals Programme – Investment Professionals upon his graduation.

Marcus graduated with a double degree in Accountancy and Business Management. He has previously completed two internships at PricewaterhouseCoopers Singapore (Assurance) and Baker & McKenzie.Wong & Leow (Tax Services), as well as an attachment at the Retail Banking division in Bank of China. For the summer of 2014, he has completed a three-month internship with the Wealth Advisory team in Maybank Singapore.
Cheng Jun Song graduated with a degree in Economics at Singapore Management University. In recognition of his academic excellence, he was placed on the School of Economics Dean’s List for Academic Year 2013/14 and Academic Year 2014/15. Jun Song has previous internship experiences with PricewaterhouseCoopers Singapore and the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Emerging Markets Division. He is also the Vice-President for SMU Aquatic Sharks and served in the Organising Committee for Oikos Day as Programmes Director. Jun Song also represented SEM at the FutureChina Youth Forum Scholar Showdown organized by BusinessChina in 2014. His team emerged champions and was invited to attend the prestigious FutureChina Global Forum. His past internships include stints with Straits Trading in 2015 and an investment banking analyst with Citi Bank in 2016.
Andrie Ryan Sidharta
Director, South East Asia Desk | Events
Andrie graduated with a degree in Business Management (Finance) from the Singapore Management University. In view of his academic excellence, he was awarded Singapore Scholarship by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore. He was also awarded the Citi Best Second Year Finance Student Award for AY2013/2014 and the LKCSB Dean’s List for AY2012/13 and 2013/2014. With passion in music, he was the head of music department for the SMU Indonesian Cultural Club Production – GAYA 2013. He started his internship journey at PT Agrodana Futures as a financial consultant (FX trading) before embarking on sell-side corporate finance roles in PwC and Lazard. Further pursuing his interest on the field, he also completed internships in prominent SEA-based private equity firms, Equis Funds Group and Northstar.
