SMU Emerging Markets finishes as 1st Runners-up at the Inaugural Yale-NUS Global China Connection Belt & Road Initiative Case Competition 2018

Team CEAJIU comprising of SMU Emerging Markets members Ron Mak, Samuel Joel Chiang, Balkis Ammal, and Chua Deng Quan has emerged as 1st Runners-up at the inaugural Yale-NUS Global China Connection Belt and Road Initiative Case Competition held at Yale-NUS on 31 March 2018. SMU Emerging Markets would also like to extend our heartiest congratulations to our members Dorothy Tan and George Yeoh who were
part of the Champion and 2nd Runners-up Teams respectively.

Via the Belt and Road Initiative, China has invested significantly in four main Malaysian infrastructure projects. Over the course of a month, the team had to evaluate the risk and opportunities present in these projects and how Singapore could benefit from these developments, before presenting their analysis to a panel of industry experts.

The team would like to thank Prof. Low Aik Meng, Prof. Yuanto Kusnadi, and Prof. Wang Jiwei for their guidance, as well as members of SMU Emerging Markets for their support. SMU Emerging Markets finished as 1st Runners-up at the Inaugural Yale-NUS Global China Connection Belt & Road Initiative Case Competition 2018
